He's here!!! He's here!!!

I'm an Aunt!!! Mateo's a big cousin!!! Joe's an Uncle!!!!

Cash Lucas Smith was born on Friday, March 30 at 5:59 AM. He is 6lbs 11oz and 21 inches long!!

He is the cutest little guy I have ever seen (well, except for Taye) and I've been told by his daddy that he really likes snuggles. We're heading to ET in two weeks so we can meet my precious nephew in person (we met on Skype Friday night but it's not the same).

Mateo and I are being over-dramatic (or so Joe says) but we think these next two weeks are going to be the LONGEST of our lives!!

Melt my heart!

I'm back!!

My blogging has been non-existant since September of 2011 (7 months or so..) and it's not for lack of fun, but exactly that...we've been having a lot of fun and I just haven't stopped to blog about it.

About 2 weeks ago I was on jury duty and wrote up a whole bunch of blog posts from the last 7 months or so and here they all are:

I will be posting regularly again because I forget how much I love it.

Baby shower!!

I don't think I ever mentioned on the blog but I'm going to be an AUNT!!! My sister and her hubby are expecting in April and we went to WI over the weekend to throw her a baby shower!!

There were lots of people and I barely spoke to anyone (due to being the hostess and the offical drink maker!) so I apologize!

Amy and Luke are pretty much set and we had a wonderful time! Mateo is super excited for his baby cousin Cash to arrive!!

Mateo had to give an early present. It's a onsie that says
"Cousins Rock" with a guiter. Taye's shirt is the same, just in black.

First Blood - and I'm not talking Rambo

Mateo is pure boy (black eye at 10 mo) and he's always running and on the move. That means he trips and falls multiple times a day but usually nothing to big.

However, on Super Bowl Sunday, he was running around like a crazy person and somehow fell into the big speaker. He screamed and I thought he had hit is head. So I grab him and am calming him down and looking at his head. I didn't see a mark and couldn't understand why he was crying so hard. And then I saw it...what is that red stuff!! He had cut his ear.

The next thing I remember is yelling to joe "I need something...blood...I need something." To which he asked what I needed and my reply was "blood...I don't know."

It was kinda comical as I was not expecting to have to deal with that at this age. Guess what else, it's really hard to have a toddler sit still so the ear can stop bleeding...nearly impossible. So, at 14 months old, we have our first incident involving blood...how do I survive the next 18 years??

Ok - so looking at these pictures now, it doesn't look like
that big of a deal but I promise you it was horrifying

Happy New Year

I cannot believe how incredibly fast this year seemed to go. We spent New Year's pretty low-key this year...Mateo stayed up a little later than normal and Joe and I made a couple appetizers, watched a movie and then stayed up until midnight. I will confess that at 11:00 when we watched the ball drop in NY, I did ask if that could count as our midnight and Joe said no and that I could make it one more hour :)

Happy New Year's everyone!

Merry Christmas!

We were lucky enough to be able to take some time off and have a nice little visit to East Troy for Christmas. Nana and Papa hosted Christmas Eve this year and it was a blast! Mateo put on quite the show for everyone and was quite enamored with his cousin Mya.

Christmas day was pretty quite and relaxing and Mateo made quite the haul between Auntie A and Uncle L, Nana/Papa and Santa. However, Auntie A and Uncle L will be paid back at some point for the drum they gave to Mateo - not sure how or when but they will be paid back.

It's tough work opening presents

Family Pictures

Joe finally caved this year and agreed to family pictures. A friend recommended the photographer who came to our house!! It was so nice! Below are some of my favorites.
