Mateo - Five months

As you can see from the above photos, five months translates into not sitting still. Mateo has no problem rolling belly to back and occasionally (usually when he's pissed (sorry Nana)) can role belly to back. He'll tolerate being on his stomach as long as there is a toy to chew on in front of him and he's getting really good at pushing his torso off the floor.

He's doing fairly well with the rice cereal so I'm excited for his six-month check up and are given the go ahead to start other food.

In addition to the eating/rolling, Mateo has figured out how to take his socks off and suck on his toes, just like his Auntie Amy used to do. It's absolutely hilarious to watch. Bath time is still a blast, especially now that he's learning to splash and he can eat his toes. We're trying to practice seating up and he does fairly well. I think he can sit by himself for about 15 seconds before he starts to fall to the side.

Mateo is full of smiles and laughs, especially when his dad is in the room. It's quite sickening to be honest. Joe walks in the room and Mateo stares at him like he walks on water. I can't believe how the time has flown and can't wait to see what six months has in store for us.

Hotel Falbo

Visitors, visitors and more visitors is how we spent the month of February. Nana and Papa visited twice, Auntie Amy and Uncle Luke came to play and Auntie Kari came too.

While Uncle Luke and AAA were here, Mateo was on his best behavior and learned how to play Super Mario Brothers with Uncle Luke. He was spoiled rotten by Auntie Amy and Uncle Luke had to ask if Mateo ever cries.

It's my turn!

Auntie A, why did you put me in this box?

We shopped til Tater dropped
Next Auntie Kari came to hang out with us and wow!! Mateo LOVES blondes and would not pay attention to Joe or I whenever Kari was around. My son is a flirt and it's kind of ridiculous that is has started this young.

Nana and Papa came to visit again at the end of the month, or really the beginning of March. Daycare was closed from Feb 27 - March 4 so Nana and Papa graciously offered to baby sit from March 2 - 4. Needless to say Joe and I couldn't figure out why Mateo started to cry at 9:30 am on Sunday until we realized "oh right, Nana and Papa left so we have to feed our son." I think I fed Mateo one time from Wed around 10:30 am through Sunday around 8 am. We owe Nana and Papa big time.

Mateo - Four months

Yeah, yeah I know four months has come and gone...

Mateo weighed in at 15 lbs 4 oz and was 25 inches at his four month appointment. We were given the go ahead to start rice cereal and this was the initial reaction:

Mateo is a rolling machine (back to belly) and is trying really hard to figure out the belly to back. He learned how to screech in joy while Auntie Kari was visiting and that he loves to eat phones, again thanks to Auntie Kari.

I'm sure he learned a ton of other stuff but now it feels like months four and five are running together so stay tuned for the five month post. Yes, that's what I get for procrastinating.
